| At adidas, our goal is to build products that make athletes better and provide programs that meet the needs of the athletes – from youth players to professional soccer stars. As the global leader in soccer, we will continue our mission to Inspire and Enable an American soccer nation.
After supporting thousands of the finest youth soccer players from across the United States for more than a decade through our adidas Elite Soccer Program, we regret to announce that the 2010 program will be postponed. adidas ESP participants have gone on to play for the U.S. National Team, Major League Soccer and in professional leagues around the world. We understand and appreciate that the program has become an integral part of the development of America’s best soccer players and we are extremely proud of its success. While the 2010 break is not ideal, adidas is committed to working with all of our partners to establish a stronger ESP that will meet the needs of the athletes and the sport for years to come. 2010 will be an iconic year for soccer as South Africa hosts the first FIFA World Cup in Africa. We are excited for what this means for soccer around the globe and look forward to yet again being an Official Partner of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. |
